Independent vintage furniture business A Fold of Chairs has announced the opening of its debut store.

Situated on London Road in St Albans, the store offers a collection of furniture, art and ceramics from the 20th century, as well as the opportunity for customers to observe furniture restoration and reupholstery.

“We are passionate about the positive impact buying vintage furniture has on the environment,” the business, which was launched four years ago online, said. “We strive to use natural materials and treatments during the repair and restoration of our furniture.

“We opened our first store in St Albans city centre. Here we have curated a selection of our favourite pieces from the full collection on our website. Our in-house upholstery studio will showcase the traditional skills used to sensitively restore our latest pieces.”
