Upholstery manufacturer raises over £800 for local charity

Upholstery manufacturer Whitemeadow Furniture has raised over £800 for local charity The Children’s Bereavement Centre.

Whitemeadow has a Charity Committee which organises fundraising campaigns for a local charity every year, voted for by its employees, as well as continuously raising money for The Furniture Makers’ Company, the furniture industry charity.

Commenting on the recent charity event, Zehra Gezer, Head of Group Marketing and Chair of the Charity Committee at Whitemeadow, said: “Every 22 minutes in the UK, a child is bereaved of a parent. That was a shocking statistic that really struck home with a lot of us at Whitemeadow, we even have staff members and relatives that have had to use The Children’s Bereavement Centre themselves.

“So, we were delighted to be able to raise money through our sofa raffle for such a great cause, raising over £800. We’ll do anything from bake sales to abseils for good causes, and the generous team here at Whitemeadow never disappoint.

“We look forward to raising more money for The Children’s Bereavement Centre and The Furniture Maker’s Company in the coming months.”
