UK sales grow 25% at office furniture maker

The UK division of US office furniture manufacturer Herman Miller has reported a growth in sales as turnover surpassed £130m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 28 May 2022, total sales rose 15.2% to £134.5m from £116.6m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £22.2m, slightly down from £23.3m recorded in the previous year.

UK and Ireland sales were up 24.7% to £54.5m from £43.7m, while EU sales rose 30.8% to £68.3m from £52.2m. Sales across the rest of the world declined from £20.6m to £11.6m.

Stated within its report, the company said it saw strong growth in Mainland Europe, driven by a number of growth initiatives allied with ongoing price competitiveness, despite operating in a challenging environment.
