UK sales continue to perform strongly at French furniture business

High-end French furniture business Roche Bobois has reported a growth in UK sales as half year revenues surge.

According to its latest trading update for the half year 2022, UK sales rose 76.4% to €11.5m from €6.5m in 2021. Overall sales increased 27.2% to €203m from €159.6m, representing a new half-year turnover record.

Within its second quarter, the UK achieved a ‘very good’ period with revenue of €6.5m compared to €3.2m in 2021 (+105.0% at current exchange rates and +101.6% at constant exchange rates).

Commenting on its performance, Roche Bobois said: “This performance illustrates the very high level of business volume in the previous months and that of the order book, but also the sustained pace of deliveries since the beginning of the year.

“At the same time, the commercial dynamic remained strong; order intake for the 1st half of 2022 posted a very high level of €334.1m compared to €312.2m in the 1st half of 2021 (+7.0%) including €189m from directly operated stores which outperformed the activity level of franchised stores (+12.2% compared to the 1st half of 2021).

“In the end, the Group therefore achieved a very good business performance in its first half of 2022; this is all the more remarkable in that it takes place in a less favorable overall economic context. The Roche Bobois group is once again demonstrating the strength of its positioning and the very strong appeal of its brands.”
