Timber importer grows sales by over 40%

Timber importer for furniture industry, Service Timber, has reported a growth in sales and profit as key relationships minimise supply impact.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 January 2022, total sales rose 44.2% to £36.8m from £25.5m in 2021.

Gross profit increased from £4.2m to £5.2m, while pre-tax profit amounted to £2.7m, growing from a profit of £1.9m the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that despite the ongoing conflict in Ukraine, which has had an impact on global supply of timber, its strong relationships with suppliers have seen a continued supply of raw materials without impact on the business.

Service Timber supplies a number of industries including the furnishings sector for pine furniture, divan bases and ottoman bed sets, as well as garden furniture.
