Clothing and home furnishings textiles supplier Behrens has reported a decline in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales fell 3.2% to £24.2m from £25m in 2021.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £886,000, down from £1.7m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said UK sales represented £22.5m, down from £22.7m year-on-year, while export revenues totalled £1.7m, down from £2.3m.

The business continued its investment in automation and digitalisation to improve efficiencies, which allowed the company to ‘grow in a number of areas’ during the year.
