Teemo celebrates Work Placement Scheme success

Teemo, a business-to-business furniture designer and manufacturer whose clients include John Lewis, Dunelm and Urban Outfitters, has teamed up with Nottingham Trent University (NTU) to offer a series of year-long work placements.

The latest NTU students to work with Teemo are Alex Radivan and Zahra Achda, who have been on placement at Teemo’s Peterborough office for the past 12 months.

“We’re committed to nurturing the next generation of design talent, and this NTU partnership is a brilliant way for students to experience the furniture industry first-hand,” said Teemo MD Nick Green. “Alex and Zahra have contributed immensely over the past year, and we trust this experience will guide their future careers.”

Max Pownall, Senior Lecturer in Product Design at NTU, echoed these sentiments: “The placement year gives students a chance to apply the skills developed during their first and second years at NTU. Students who undertake these placements show significant improvement in their abilities and dedication, as well as gaining a thorough understanding of the markets they may be designing for in the future.”

Alex Radivan and Zahra Achda shared their personal experiences from the placement. “This placement has given me invaluable design experience,” said Alex. “Working at Teemo has provided me with a strong foundation of skills and industry knowledge.”

Zahra added: “Being on placement at Teemo has been a pivotal experience in my journey as a designer. I’ve gained many skills and developed them to a more professional standard. I’m grateful to have been entrusted with important design responsibilities that made me feel like a valued member of the design team.”

Teemo Designs, in its ongoing partnership with Nottingham Trent University, continues to pave the way for aspiring designers and reinforces its commitment to the industry’s future.
