Supermarket set to close two furnishing stores

Supermarket giant Asda has announced plans to close two furnishing and homeware stores this summer.

Asda, which operates more than 600 supermarkets across the UK, has confirmed Asda Living stores in Wrexham and Bristol will close.

The Wrexham store, located on Island Green Retail Park, will close on 31 July, while a date for the Bristol location, situated at Eastgate Retail Park, has not yet been confirmed.

Asda said that both stores, part of 33 Asda Living stores within its portfolio, have been ā€œrunning at a loss for a number of yearsā€ and that following a ā€œperiod of consultationā€, it decided to close the stores.

The business added that it will try and find ā€œalternate roles in other local storesā€ for impacted staff.
