Strong demand sees profit jump 155% at kitchen furniture firm

Kitchen furniture manufacturer and retailer Harvey Jones has reported double-digit sales growth as profit more than doubles.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 28.6% to £19.3m from £15m in 2020.

Gross profit increased to £8.5m from £6.5m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £1.3m, up 155% compared to its profit of £508,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said it experienced strong demand for its products despite the pandemic impacting performance, adding that it plans to continue to build brand awareness and its digital strategy.

“In 2022, based on the strong orderbook, and a further reduction to the cost base, we anticipate improving performance and the Group is expected to increase its profitability,” the company added.
