Strong demand for carpets boosts manufacturer

Carpet manufacturer Brockway Carpets has reported a growth in sales and profits.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2022, total sales rose 48.5% to £20.8m from £14m in 2021.

Gross profit increased from £4.2m to £7.8m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £2.7m, up from £0.8m recorded against the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that the demand for quality wool carpets was strong coming out of the various retail restrictions.

“The strong availability of product and customer care are aspects of the company’s proposition which proved an asset during this time and this will continue to be built upon,” the business added.

“The delivery of improved margin (37.7%, up from 30.4%) is the result of a change in product mix and a reduction in the overall cost of manufacturing.”
