Sofa manufacturer and wholesaler, Scan-Thors (UK) Ltd, has reported a decline in sales but a return to profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales fell 40% to £10m from £16.9m in 2021.
UK sales fell 62% to £5m from £13.3m, while overseas sales rose 38% to £5m from £3.6m.
Pre-tax profit returned to £338,000, improving from its loss of £54,000 recorded in the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company said the primary causes to the decline was due to lengthening its accounting period and the cessation of business with a third party supplier, “a necessary step in the business’ continuing strategy of supporting its vertically integrated supply base”.
