Sharps sees sales surge past £100m as demand spiked

Fitted bedroom and home office furniture retailer and manufacturer, Sharps, has reported a surge in sales as turnover jumped beyond £100m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 3 October 2021, total sales rose 27.9% to £112.4m from £87.9m in 2020.

Gross profit increased from £38.1m to £49.9m, while pre-tax profit spiked 116% to £24.2m compared to its profit of £11.2m the previous year.

Stated within its report, Sharps said it experienced increased demand as consumers switched spending from holidays to home improvements, adding that it expects sales volumes to return to normal levels during the year ahead.

During the period, Sharps reduced its showrooms by 15, resulting in a year-end number of 62 locations.
