SATRA grows sales while losses reach £1m

Testing house SATRA has reported a growth in turnover and a return profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 9% to £13.3m from £12.2m in 2021.

Pre-tax losses resulted at £998,000 compared to its profit of £108,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, SATRA said: “The cost-of-living crisis and the possibility of recession in the UK impacted across the business in 2022. This had an adverse effect upon both income and profitability for the year, particularly in the second half.

“However, the negotiation of fixed deals on energy pricing spanning into 2024 and good cost control has helped to counteract the effect.

“Despite the loss, the company’s cash position remains healthy and the company has continued its commitment to capital expenditure on further improvements to equipment and facilities.”
