Sales grow beyond £25m at lighting business

Lighting business Pooky has reported a growth in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 May 2023, total sales rose 35.9% to £26.1m from £19.2m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £6.1m, up from £5.7m recorded in the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Trading during 2022/23 was encouraging, with the group continuing to successfully deliver outstanding products to its growing customer base.

“The group continued to upgrade its range of products. In addition, further investments were made in web platform to support an improved customer experience. The group opened a second showroom in Redbrick.”

Furthermore, the group invested in its infrastructure including after the year end, extending its flagship Chelsea showroom, as well as investing in a warehouse facility at its Gloucester base.

“Looking further into the future, the group has been investing in the US in order to launch the brand in the US in the first quarter of 2024,” the company added. “This exciting development will see an investment in people, products and premises before there is a return.”
