Sales down at flooring supplier

Carpet supplier Furlong Flooring has reported a decline in overall turnover, as all four key divisions posted lower revenues.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2023, total sales for Furlong Flooring Southern fell 3% to £32.4m from £33.3m in 2022. Pre-tax profit resulted at £523,000, down from £969,000 recorded the previous year.

As for Furlong Flooring Central, sales declined 2.6% to £27.7m from £28.4m, while pre-tax profit decreased from £634,000 to £2,000.

Within the Welsh division, sales decreased 9.5% to £17.1m from £18.9m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £206,000, up from a loss of £63,000 year-on-year.

Meanwhile, the Northern Irish manufacturing division, Regency Carpet, posted a decline in sales by 10% to £35.2m from £39.2m. Pre-tax profit resulted at £131,000, down from £341,000 in 2022.

Combined, sales reached £112.4m, down 6.1% from £119.8m the previous year.
