Refreshed products boost half year sales at flooring firm

Specialist flooring company AIREA plc has reported a growth in half year sales although profit declined slightly.

According to its interim results for the six months ended 30 June 2023, total group sales rose 14.9% to £9.8m from £8.5m against the same period last year.

Pre-tax profit dipped 5.4% to £620,000 from £656,000, while EBITDA resulted at £1m.

During the period, AIREA continued to focus on sales growth in existing and new territories, with “key wins in export markets”, while also launching carbon-neutral products in line with market trends and demand for low-carbon products.

The company also installed and commissioned solar panels to reduce exposure to energy price volatility.

Martin Toogood, Non-Executive Chairman of AIREA plc, commented: “The first half of 2023 has seen continued growth in our sales fuelled by a focus on refreshing our product offering and taking advantage of new markets. The current economic environment continues to put a strain on the cost of labour, energy, and raw materials.

“We do however continue to take actions to manage these risks with investments for the future such as the installation of our renewable energy solutions, all with a view to capitalising on the opportunities in our markets as and when wider macro conditions improve.”
