Outdoor furniture retailer closes owing creditors almost £200k

Outdoor furniture retailer Distinct Gardens has been placed into liquidation, owing creditors almost £200,000.

Andrew Ryder, of JT Maxwell Ltd, was appointed as liquidator of Distinct Gardens Limited on 1 December 2022.

Detailed in newly filed documents on Companies House, the business, which was formerly known as Fairdeal Furniture Limited and was incorporated on 9 September 2013, owes preferential creditor, the HMRC, a figure of £2,000. This is expected to be repaid from realised assets valuing £8,500.

Meanwhile, unsecured creditor claims totalled £195,000 with trade claims valuing £61,000, Lloyds bank owed £46,000 and a director’s loan of £86,000.

It is understood that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £189,000.
