M&S relocates Liverpool store and creates more jobs

High street retailer Marks & Spencer has announced the opening of its new Liverpool store.

Situated at Liverpool One, M&S has taken over the former Debenhams site and has relocated from its previous location on Church Street.

The new South John Street store covers 70,000sqft of trading space and features a home department alongside typical areas including clothing, food and its new-look M&S coffee shop.

Along with the existing M&S Liverpool team of 250 colleagues, who have transferred to work in the new store, the retailer has welcomed more than 70 new staff.

Rob Deacon, senior asset manager at Liverpool One owner, Grosvenor, said: “It has been fantastic working with the M&S team to help them achieve their vision of delivering a modern and enticing showcase space which provides an enhanced experience for their customers.

“To be the location of choice within Liverpool for another retail giant’s flagship store evidences the fantastic work we do for brands and operators alike.”
