Mattress manufacturer maintains strong sales as profit rises

Luxury mattress manufacturer Vispring has reported a slight decline in sales while profit increased.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2023, total sales fell 2% to £52.1m from £53.2m in 2022. Pre-tax profit resulted at £19m, up from £18.8m year-on-year.

Stated within its report, the company said that domestic market sales decreased by 6%, leading to a reduction in worldwide sales units of 7%. Export sales were “static”, while gross margin increased to 70.2% from 69.5%.

UK sales represented £19.9m of turnover, down from £21.1m, while EU revenues stood at £15.2m, down from £15.7m. Sales for the rest of the world increased from £16.2m to £16.8m.
