Lighting sales down, office furniture up at contract business

Contract furniture and lighting group Steeple has reported a decline in turnover and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales fell 4.7% to £26.3m from £27.6m in 2021.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £1.7m, slightly down from £1.9m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the group said its core lighting division saw sales dip 5.9% to £22m from £23.4m, while office furniture sales rose 38% to £3.6m from £2.6m.

UK sales declined to £13.6m from £14m, while export sales decreased slightly to £12.7m from £13.5m.

Steeple Group is the holding company for a number of trading businesses including Eterna Lighting, Eterna Ireland, Protocol Furniture, R&S Robertson and Tibelec.
