Kitchen furniture firm invests in greener delivery fleet

Kitchen and bathroom furniture manufacturer Moores Furniture Group has expanded its delivery fleet.

The company has invested in a further six Mercedes Actros vehicles to its fleet, demonstration its commitment to a more sustainable planet.

“Our fleet is now 100% compliant to Euro 6 standards and we have seen fuel efficiency improve by 20% versus older models, reducing our carbon footprint significantly,” Moores said.

“This fleet upgrade enables us to reduce our Co2 emissions by a whopping 195 tonnes across the entire fleet. This supplements the 200 tonne saving we had already made by building in final mile delivery stations we can trunk to in bulk.

“Overall, we have reduced our carbon footprint by 395 tonnes of Co2 per year, which is pretty amazing, especially when you consider that just one tonne of Co2 is equivalent to 500 CO2 fire extinguishers or 120,000 smartphones charges. Here at Moores we strive to sustain the future we’re building.”
