Italian furniture retailer enters liquidation

Wolverhampton-based furniture retailer Interiors Italia has been placed into liquidation, owing creditors over £100,000.

Laura Walshe, of Keywood Group Limited, was appointed as liquidator of Interiors Italia Limited on 18 November 2022.

Detailed in newly filed documents on Companies House, the business owed secured creditor, the HMRC, over £50,000. Around £6,000 is expected to be realised through company assets, although the business’ stock value is estimated to be £93,000. It is uncertain how much of this will be realised.

As for unsecured creditors, these are owed a combined figure of over £98,000 with £50,000 owed to trade claims, £12,000 owed to connected company Eldridge Furniture Ltd and £31,000 owed to a director’s loan. Consumer creditors totalled just over £4,000.

It is anticipated that creditors will suffer a shortfall of around £143,000.

The business, which specialises in Italian furniture, currently has its website interiorsitalia.com still live. Furthermore, a new website is currently under construction, italianfurnitureshop.co.uk, which is linked to the existing Facebook page of the company.
