Interior fit out firm posts record year as profit doubles

Interior fit out and joinery firm EE Smith Contracts has reported a surge in sales as turnover surpassed £70m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2023, total sales jumped 22.1% to £75.1m from £61.5m in 2022. Pre-tax profit resulted at £2.7m, significantly improving from its profit of £1.2m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said it had delivered another year of record trading and a return to pre-pandemic profitability.

“Our high-end market sectors have remained exceptionally strong. Due to high client satisfaction achieved previously, we have a continuous stream of new business prospects presented from previous clients of their professional advisors.

“Our estimate of currently available new business prospects within our core sector exceeds £500m. This shows we must pursue works which meet our portfolio, skill set and price point. We cannot waste our valuable skills on onerous contracts.”
