Independent furniture retailer Paul Adam Furnishers has confirmed plans to close due to retirement.

The business, which has been established since 1924 and is based on Brook Street in Hull, is currently holding a closing down sale.

In a statement, the company said: “After 99 years in business, Paul Adams is closing down due to retirement. There will be up to 70% off and everything must go.”

The retailer stocks a number of brands such as G Plan, Stressless, ercol, Parker Knoll, Hypnos and Sherborne across its store.
