Independent carpet retailer windows smashed by teenager

Independent carpet retailer Molly Carpets has been the victim of vandalism after seeing its windows smashed.

The retailer, which is based on St Andrews Street South in Bury St Edmunds, was one of four shops that were attacked by vandals.

Bury Fish & Chip Shop, Mountain Warehouse and Poundland all sustained damage to their respective stores.

Molly Carpets said that the damage has caused issues for the business, which will have to pay the excess through its insurance to replace the windows.

It is understood that a 16-year-old boy has been arrested by Suffolk Police in connection with the vandalism at all four properties and has since been released on bail.
