Independent beds retailer confirms first Surrey store

Independent beds and mattresses retailer Sussex Beds has announced plans to open its first store in Surrey.

Sussex Beds has completed an agreement to take the former M+Co store on High St in Horley, which is expected to open on Saturday 14 January 2023.

The new 6,000sq ft store marks another milestone for the retailer, entering its third county, while the store brings its portfolio to 14 locations.

Commenting on the Horley store plans, John Rayment, Operations Director at award winning family run retailer Sussex Beds, said: “The demographic of the surrounding area matches our main client base. We had looked at Crawley, but found no decent locations. This store came up and we beat a gym to gain possession of the site.”

John also added that they are close on a store in Caterham as the business continues to implement its ongoing store rollout programme.

“Caterham is still with the solicitor but we hope to start work in the New Year. There’s also an offer in at another store, but we can’t say nothing more on that just yet. I’m continuing my search towards our 10 year goal of 80 stores with more planned during 2023.”
