Increased prices see luxury beds retailer grow sales

Beds and bedroom furniture retailer And So To Bed has reported a growth in sales while profit declined.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 6% to £14.1m from £13.3m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £849,000, down from £1.4m year-on-year.

Stated within its report, the company said that the sales growth was in relation to cost price inflation from its suppliers, the majority of which it was forced to pass on to its customers.

Gross margin increased 1.6% to 51%, as the company withdrew from some of the promotional discounts previously offered to customers in reaction to “rapidly” increasing cost base.
