Homewares retailer opens in York; London to follow

Danish homewares retailer Søstrene Grene has announced the opening of its new store in York.

Situated in Nessgate, the new store, which was formerly home to the Royal Bank of Scotland, officially opened on Friday 24 November.

To celebrate the launch, the retailer gave away a special gift to its first 100 customers, which included a free goodie bag and large Danish rug.

Commenting on the launch, Søstrene Grene said: “Our prime location on Nessgate is something we’re especially excited about. The store offers a wide assortment of home décor, furniture, kitchenware, hobby items, party decorations, toys, and much more.”

Furthermore, the retailer is also preparing to launch its Tottenham Court Road, London, store on 1 December 2023.

“It is with great joy that Søstrene Grene announces the opening of the very first store in Central London. With a beautiful location at 23-24 Tottenham Court Road, the two sisters cannot wait to open the doors for their new customers in London and surrounding areas. On the grand opening day, you can look forward to a festive event with small and big surprises, along with goodie bags for the first 200 visitors.”

This follows Søstrene Grene’s recent launch of its new UK webshop, which went live during September 2023 alongside its continuous store rollout across the UK.

Søstrene Grene currently has over 270 stores worldwide, with the aim of having 100 stores across the UK by 2030.

Recent store openings include Cheltenham, Kingston, High Wycombe, Bracknell, and Sheffield, as well as in York, Liverpool and Leamington Spa.
