Furniture retailer raises £3.5k for Prostate Cancer UK

The Fabb family (formerly AHF) has been working together with its customers to raise a sum of £3,500 for national charity Prostate Cancer UK.

The stark fact is that 1 in 8 men will develop prostate cancer and, although it’s not always life threatening, the earlier diagnosis, the more likely you are to be cured.

“Prostate cancer is still not spoken about enough,” explained Victoria Camp, HR Manager at Fabb Furniture. “We all have heard about this type of cancer, but it comes as a shock to most that so many men go on to develop it. The key to cure is to catch it early and that is where the Fabb family has been keen to get involved.”

“We’re a passionate bunch at Fabb; and not only does our passion cover furniture design and the desire to create the best value furniture in the industry, we are also extremely passionate about the health and wellbeing of all our customers and our employees and that’s why we wanted to help.”

For a series of months, 19 of Fabb’s furniture stores, stretching from Poole in the south, to Keighley, West Yorkshire, have been rattling buckets and raising funds for this great cause. Fabb Peterborough raised an incredible £800 of the total amount.

“We’re delighted to raise funds for Prostate Cancer UK and will continue to keep talking about it, so that awareness levels within our own Fabb community remain high and our male employees are fully aware of this, often symptomless, disease,” adds Victoria.
