Furniture retailer eyes further expansion following distribution investment

Furniture retailer NCF Living has reported a slight growth in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 March 2023, total sales rose 0.3% to £25.7m from £25.6m in 2022. Pre-tax profit resulted at £53,000, improving from the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The period under review has seen a return to more normal trading conditions. The post Covid-19 demand experienced in early 2021/22 masks the year-on-year progress achieved by the business.

“The year also saw the first full year of the operation for the company’s state-of-the-art national distribution centre at Hams Hall, Coleshill. The significant investment in this facility allows the business to service its growing turnover and facilitates expansion of the store estate – including opening additional stores in Leeds, Bradford, Hull and Swansea in the 2021-22 financial year.

“Continuing its growth strategy, the company will continue to explore opportunities to expand its store estate in prime locations, including three new locations opening in 2023/24.

“Accordingly, with the considerable money invested in the infrastructure and people, the Director is confident the business is on target to achieve gross turnover in excess of £85m with strong profitability in 2024/25.”
