Furniture components supplier delivers strong home growth; exports down

Components manufacturer BHK (UK) has reported a growth in sales as profit more than doubled.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 25.9% to £13.1m from £10.4m in 2020.

UK sales were up 31.9% to £12.8m from £9.7m, while EU revenues declined 54% to £350,000 from £767,000.

Gross profit increased from £2.7m to £4.1m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £486,000, up 276% from £129,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that it had invested in machinery and people during the year, as well as investing in training in automation technology to implement automation solutions in-house.

BHK said that its profiles business has continued to grow in the year while also maintaining its market share in the drawers business.

BHK (UK) manufactures chipboard, MDF and plywood drawers, bases and profiles for general furniture use.
