Furniture business owes creditors almost £600k following liquidation

Furniture retailer Custom Wardrobes has been placed into liquidation owing creditors over half a million pounds.

Eric Walls and Wayne Harrison, both of KSA Group Ltd, were appointed as joint liquidators of Custom Wardrobes Limited on 12 December 2022.

Detailed in newly filed documents on Companies House, the business owed preferential creditors, the HMRC and employee arrears, the respective sums of £11,700 and £53,000. These are likely to be repaid from realised assets valuing £78,000.

As for unsecured creditors, claims totalled a combined figure of £611,000 with £432,000 owed to the trade. A further £30,000 is owed to staff and £148,000 owed to associated creditors. It is understood that creditors will suffer a shortfall of £599,000.
