Furniture and beds business expands with sixth store

Bespoke furniture and beds business Edwardian Bedding has announced the opening of its new store in York.

Situated at 18-19 Colliergate, the new store adds to its other locations in Mexborough, Malton, Hornsea, Leyburn and Shrewsbury.

Edwardian Bedding, which manufactures all its own products in its Mexborough factory including bespoke furniture and mattresses, has been established since 1978.

The move to York was down to spotting a gap in the market with the location a prominent site in the centre.

“We do sell a lot of stuff in York so we thought it would be a good place to move into,” said Adrian Swingler, Operations Manager at Edwardian Bedding. “We’re trying to bring furniture into the centre of York, no one’s really doing it anymore. We want to offer something in the centre that can only be found in the retail parks now.”
