Fitted furniture firm grows turnover beyond £100m

Fitted furniture supplier Hammonds Furniture has reported a growth in sales as turnover surpassed £100m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2022, total sales rose 10% to £104.7m from £95.1m in 2021.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £5.9m, up 15% from £5.1m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, Hammonds said that revenue growth was in line with its business plan and remains committed to achieving further growth by adopting a digital first strategy, effective cost control and investing in its people.

During the period, Hammonds reduced its workforce from 678 to 652, mainly across its sales and office departments. However, production staff numbers increased from 317 to 321.
