Danish furniture retailer to close Yorkshire store

Danish furniture retailer JYSK has confirmed that its York store will close later this year.

Situated on Sterling Road, Clifton Moor, the retailer has displayed signs at the location advising on the closure.

The lease at the 1,400sqft store is coming to an end, with the retailer deciding to execute its right to opt out of a renewal.

It is understood that JYSK is looking for another site in the city, while the seven staff currently employed at the store are being offered roles in other stores.

The store will close in July, although a final date has not been confirmed.

“JYSK continues to look for viable locations in York and surrounding areas that will fall in line with company’s expansion plan across the UK,” the company added.
