Bensons for Beds moves into new Waterlooville store

Bensons for Beds is moving into a new store in Waterlooville, Hampshire, in the latest opening of one of its new concept stores designed to offer customers in the area the widest range possible.

The bed and mattress retailer is moving into Unit 6A, Wellington Retail Park, Hambledon Road, Waterlooville, Hampshire.

The new store opens on Friday 23 September with more than 8,000 square feet of trading space. It will employ five colleagues.

On the site of the former Argos unit, it replaces the store at the same retail park, which it had previously shared with Harveys until 2020 when Bensons became a standalone company.

To mark the occasion, Bensons will be rolling out its iconic purple carpet to welcome visitors who will be offered an additional 10 per cent off items bought over the opening weekend.

One of Bensons’ new store formats, it has been designed to showcase the wide range of beds and mattresses on offer from top brands including Slumberland, iGel, Tempur and Sealy.

It is also one of the first Bensons stores to open with a new fascia and internal signage since the business underwent a rebranding in the spring.

Bensons’ chief customer officer, Frankie Haynes, said: “Waterlooville is a great location for us and we’re looking forward to opening our new store where we can show the best of what Bensons for Beds has to offer to people in the town and the surrounding region.

“Customers really like our new concept stores where they can see our full ranges and get all the help they need to make the right choice of bed and mattress so they can get the best night’s sleep possible.”

The store is run by manager Mrs Leigh Hares, who has been with the company for six years and at the Waterlooville store for just over two years.

The refit is the latest investment by Bensons under its transformation plan and follows the opening of 20 stores since December.
