Bedding manufacturer grows sales towards £90m

Bedding products manufacturer Comfy Quilts has reported another growth in sales as turnover edged closer to £90m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 January 2023, total sales rose 1.1% to £87.9m from £86.9m in 2022, adding to its 1.6% uptick in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £2.4m, rising from £2.1m recorded the previous year.

UK sales delivered growth of 1.2% to £86.8m from £85.7m, while EU sales declined to £1m from £1.1m year-on-year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The directors are happy with the business performance this year. The business has managed to mitigate the impact of increased input costs to deliver a steady margin.

“The retail environment remains challenging, but the directors are confident of ongoing strong demand for our overall product offering.”

Comfy Quilts licensee several brands in UK bedding industry including Silentnight and Sealy, as well as its own brands including nanu, Snug and Soundasleep.
