Bank worse off following flooring company closure

Independent flooring and wallcoverings company Karl Thomas Flooring Ltd has ceased to trade after entering liquidation.

Scott Kippax and Julie Palmer, both of Begbies Traynor, were appointed as joint liquidators on 4 August 2022.

Detailed in newly filed documents on Companies House, the business owed secured creditor, the HMRC, just over £6,000 in VAT.

As for unsecured creditors, the HMRC is owed a further £9,000 in Corporation Tax, while Santander Bank is owed £42,000. Two trade creditor claims valued a combined £7,300.

Liquidators anticipate a total deficiency of £64,857 for creditors. The company only had £200 in the bank upon appointment.

Karl Thomas Flooring’s only shareholder and director is Karl Thomas. He was previously a director of SJBK Contractors Ltd, which was dissolved in 2020.
