Artist launches debut soft furnishings collection

Ode to Echinacea is a new soft furnishings collection by London-based, multidisciplinary artist, Lora Avedian.

First shown in October at Decorex, followed by a debut solo pop-up at Pentreath & Hall, the collection is now live. This limited edition range, the first that Avedian has made available directly to customers through her online shop, has been made using existing fabric offcuts found in her studio, including deadstock Scottish and Italian linens.

Lora Avedian comments: “The collection is inspired by a combination of two of my favourite things — gardening and ceramics. The form of the echinacea flower, with its striking daisy silhouette, has been applied to a range of embroidered cushion designs in two different colour ways, as well as two lampshade designs.

“With the Ode to Echinacea collection I wanted to keep it simple and really celebrate the Echinacea flower for its understated beauty. It’s important to me that every element is thoughtfully put together, from the source and colour of the fabrics to the playful and textural embroidery. Through each collection I want to bring nature into the home, for it to be useful and beautiful but also something that you would want to keep as an heirloom for years to come.”
