Artisan Furniture completes Goldman Sachs’ 10KSB Programme

Artisan Furniture, a purpose-led, community-driven and socially responsible importer of furniture, has successfully completed banking giant Goldman Sachs’ 10SKB Programme for High Growth SMEs (Small and Medium Enterprises).

This prestigious mentoring scheme involved Artisan Furniture’s founder, Amit Basu, engage in an intensive months long programme of seminars, presentations and lectures regarding the process through which an SME can become economically successful, financially robust and sustainable in the long term.

The latter was key for Artisan Furniture, given their business model which places an emphasis on communal welfare and a sustainable production line that relies on small artisanal hamlets dotted across northern India to craft, pack and ship products.

These underlying ethos of grassroots production were closely looked at in the 10KSB Programme and analysed for potential growth and improvement.

Amit said: “The programme gave Artisan Furniture the necessary tools and techniques to back their “Vision 2030 Goals”, such as a trade expansion into the EU, consolidating US operations from coast to coast, as well as expanding the product SKU’s to beyond furniture to home living accessories while remaining true to their communal, sustainable roots.”
