Kitchen furniture manufacturer and retailer, Wren, has reported another growth in sales as turnover surpassed the £1bn milestone.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 16% to £1.06bn from £916.4m in 2021, adding to its growth of 30% from £703.1m in 2020.
EBITDA stood at £150.4m, up 10% from £136.3, while pre-tax profit resulted at £112.2m, up 12% compared to £100.5m recorded the previous year.
Stated within its report, Wren said that it continued to benefit from the increased demand in the kitchens market, which reflected another year of growth.
Furthermore, Wren opened three new showrooms, bringing its total estate to 108 across the UK and has plans to expand further with additional locations already being identified.
Over the course of the year, Wren invested £92.1m in fixed assets, which included its new manufacturing plant in Barton upon Humber. This facility began producing components during the period and full kitchens in 2023.
Looking ahead, Wren added that all showrooms will be refitted with its bedroom range over the year following its soft launch of its fitted bedroom offering. Wren aims to grow market share in this sector during 2024.
Outside the UK, Wren further established its presence, with sales in the USA more than doubling, up 171% to £11.4m from £4.2m, while the UK saw revenues rise 15% from £912.2m to £1.05bn year-on-year.
