Comfortex, manufacturers of mattresses, seating, and specialist foam products, has reported a growth in sales as profit almost doubled.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2022, total sales rose 19.9% to £12.6m from £10.5m in 2021. Pre-tax profit resulted at £466,000, up 82.7% compared to £255,000 recorded in the previous year.

UK sales rose 20.4% £11.2m from £9.3m, while EU revenues declined 34.2% to £612,000 from £931,000. Rest of the world sales increased 263% to £835,000 from £230,000.

Stated within its report, the company said: “Sales have recovered to pre-pandemic levels by consolidating our strategic business relationships and ongoing investment in products and processes.

“Control of increasing overheads remains a constant pressure, which we are continuing to address as we adjust to the changing post-pandemic landscape.”
