UK market remains positive at specialist foam supplier

Comfortex, manufacturers of mattresses, seating, and specialist foam products, has reported a slight decline in sales.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 June 2023, total sales fell 3.9% to £12.1m from £12.6m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £411,000, slightly down compared to £466,000 recorded in the previous year.

UK sales rose 1.7% £11.4m from £11.2m, while EU revenues declined 53.2% to £286,000 from £612,000. Rest of the world sales decreased 50.1% to £416,000 from £835,000.

Stated within its report, the company said: “The directors are satisfied with the balanced business portfolio and trading position of the company for the reporting period despite difficult supply chain conditions. The business operates a prudent approach to risk management which has protected our stakeholders. The directors are optimistic the company will now develop opportunities for growth.

“The company is continuing to invest in new processes and sustainable technology to enable its customers to operate at the forefront of their industries. We are committed to environmental and sustainable development with our partners.”
