UK market drives growth at specialist furniture group

Office, hospitality, healthcare and home furniture manufacturer Senator has reported a growth in turnover.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales rose 7.1% to £157.8m from £147.3m in 2020.

UK sales rose 17.8% to £118.3m from £100.4m, while EU revenues fell 4.4% to £6.5m from £6.8m. Sales outside the EU also fell 17.5% to £32.9m from £39.9m.

Gross profit increased from £31.7m to £35.1m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £4.8m, up from its profit of £4.3m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said that it continues to maintain strong levels of working capital and ended the year with net assets in excess of £85m. The year ahead will see the completion of its investment in automated production to machinery, which will increase its desking manufacturing capability.
