Clothing and home furnishings textiles supplier Behrens has reported a slight decline in sales and profit.
According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2021, total sales fell 5.6% to £25m from £26.5m in 2020.
Gross profit decreased from £7.1m to £6.5m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £1.7m, down from £2.1m recorded the previous year.
Stated within its report, the company said UK sales represented £22.7m, down by £1m year-on-year, while export revenues totalled £2.3m, down from £2.7m.
The business continued its investment in automation and digitalisation to improve efficiencies, which allowed the company to ‘grow in a number of areas’ during the year.
