Sustainable bedding manufacturer delivers strong year

Sustainable bedding manufacturer Trendsetter has reported a growth in sales and profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 January 2022, total sales rose 48% to £28.2m from £19.1m in 2021.

UK sales grew 33% to £23.4m from £17.5m, while EU revenues also picked up by 30% to £1.7m from £1.3m. Sales outside the EU delivered strong growth, up 1,335% from £209,000 to £3m.

Gross profit increased from £6.4m to £9.5m, while pre-tax profit resulted at £1.8m, significantly up from £197,000 recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company said: “We saw the fruits of our efforts on new business development, with the on-boarding of significant new customers due in part to our continued focus on new product development initiatives.

“Our online sales continued their massive growth trajectory and recorded triple digit increases on the record-breaking figures of the previous year, and our Hospitality business showed signs of recovery from the lows experienced in the pandemic.”

Post-reporting period, Trendsetter has become a B-Corp, committing itself to maintain a higher standard of sustainable operations.
