Sustainability credentials help underlay supplier deliver strong year

Flooring underlay supplier Ball & Young has reported another growth in sales and strong profits.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 December 2022, total sales rose 2.1% to £32.9m from £32.2m in 2021, adding to its growth of 6.2% from £30.3m in 2020.

UK sales were up 0.6% to £31.4m from £31.2m, while EU sales increased 46% to £1.3m from £888,000. Rest of the world revenues fell to £78,000 from £94,000.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £9.1m, up from £8.6m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, the company, which is part of The Vita Group, said: “New customers are coming aboard as specifiers and consumers increasingly demand to see real sustainability that goes beyond fine words and hopeful claim.

“Investing in and developing people continues to be a key focus for the company, supported by commitment to the purpose and values program putting Health and Wellbeing as a priority.”
