Scottish furniture retailer maintains record profit growth

Two-store Scottish furniture retailer Blackbridge Furnishings has reported a growth in profit.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 30 September 2023, profit resulted at £6.3m, up 14.5% from £5.5m recorded in 2022.

Year-end cash increased from £1.1m to £2.2m, while fixed assets valued £2.7m, up from £2.2m year-on-year.

The reported profit marked the company’s highest return in its history, building on its record profit achieved last year.

The business is currently holding a closing down and moving sale, as it plans to relocate its Inverness store on Thornbush Road to a new premises on Milburn Road.
