Sanderson brand collaborates with Giles Deacon

Furnishings group Sanderson Design Group PLC has announced a collaboration agreement in which Giles Deacon, the renowned, London-based couture designer and illustrator, will create a capsule collection of fabrics, wallpapers and apparel for the Group’s Sanderson brand. The collection will be based on an innovative reworking of original Sanderson designs.

Giles Deacon, whose designs are in permanent collections at the V&A Museum in London and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, is known for mixing fashion, fine art, theatre and glamour. He is also an established illustrator, whose work has appeared widely.

The collaboration will bring an exciting fashion dimension to the Sanderson brand in a capsule collection of wallpapers and fabrics to be launched early next year. The collaboration also includes apparel and the potential for homeware products.

Giles Deacon commented: “As a long-time admirer of Sanderson wallpaper and fabrics and their hand drawn designs that celebrate the English countryside, the opportunity to explore the collection and interpret through my eyes is one I am incredibly excited about. Unique fabrications, conversational patterns and special printing techniques have long been a signature of my work and I look forward to combining them creatively into this colourful, evocative collection for Sanderson.”

Lisa Montague, Sanderson Design Group’s Chief Executive Officer, said: “We are delighted to be working with Giles Deacon, who I’ve worked with in the past, in this innovative collaboration to bring fashion to the Sanderson brand. Giles is a hugely talented designer whose great breadth of skills in print and textiles represents an exciting combination with our Sanderson brand. His capsule collection, which will launch early next year, will include fabrics, wallpapers, apparel and potentially homeware products.”
