Sales rise again at Boundary group in another ‘healthy’ year

Fashion, homeware and furnishing shopping destination group, Boundary Outlet Stores, has reported another growth in sales as turnover surpassed £30m.

According to its latest filed accounts for the year ended 31 January 2024, total sales rose 8% to £31.9m from £29.5m in 2023, further adding to its growth of 33.4% from £22.1m in 2022.

Pre-tax profit resulted at £1.7m, slightly down from its profit of £2.4m recorded the previous year.

Stated within its report, Libra Textiles, trading as five-store Boundary, said: “The upturn in trade at the back end of last year continued through this year resulting in an increase to turnover despite many of our customers being affected by the ongoing cost-of-living increases.”

The group added that increased overheads had an impact of results but were still able to report a “healthy profit” as detailed above.

“During the year the company celebrated its 40th anniversary and we continue to maximise our position within the outlet market with new concession partners as well as developing relationships with existing business partners,” the company said.

“In March 2023 we refurbished our Walsall store which completed our store refurbishments and rebranding exercise. We continue to invest in our store to ensure they stay at the level expected of them and to continually enhance our customers experience.

“We are in the progress of installing solar panels at the Colne store which will see a significant reduction in our energy consumption, and we continue to look out for further opportunities either at our existing sites or at new locations as they become available.”
